Tracking e-mail messages in Exchange 2007
HiI would like to know if Exchange 2007 has any exchange logs etc that can show us what PC an email message came from. For example, if I send an email message from my internal Company account to a hotmail account, I would like to know how to find out what PC I was using internally at the time (if using Outlook and not OWA). I would appreciate any help.Thank you,

Hi,There is already a message tracking setting enabled by default. see the log files at \TransportRoles\Logs\MessageTracking folder of your exchange installation. Settings are here: Server Configuration-->Right Click and select Properties-->Set it at Log Settings.Regards from www.windowsadmin.infoManuPhilip

Hi,Actually, message tracking log file taken from a Hub Transport server shows the IP address and host name of our exchange server (instead of internal PC) in the "Client-ip" and "Client-hostname" log file fields. So I cannot see what PC an email message came from.Do I need to reconfigure smth? Thank you

Hi,Based on my knowledge, we do not have a method to get the Client IP address to check which client submitted the message. Thanks,Mike
