We recently migrated 3000 users from our company from windows 7 & Office 2010 to Windows 8 with office professional 2013 (32bit)

Now we encounter the following issue.

Persons that worked hard with track changes in their documents in Word 2010 and they open them now in Word 2013 the whole document is acting weird.

a document containing 5 pages suddenly contains 99 pages...

Opening exactly the same document in word 2010 it remains the same.

Will the issue occur when you start Word in safe mode?

Some of our customers resolved the issue by renaming the docx file to zip and modify the comments.xml in it, check the following thread to see if it helps:
