Hello World... we are trying to analyze the usage of our resources as we determine if we are going to move to a hosted exchange solution or keep it in house. I have been tasked with determining which users utilize the email effectively, based upon the quantity of incoming and outgoing messages sent each day (if you send mail, you are assumed to be using it). We run Exchange 2003 on Windows Server 2003 Standard. So I have been running Exmon, and getting packets, but that really doesn't tell me if they are sending one message or a hundred a day. Is there a performance indicator, or a utility, that I can run to collect my smtp data and figure out who is using email the most/least? Has anyone been tasked with this type of function before... if so, how did you decide? Reason for asking... users sending fewest emails are having their accounts deleted so we can recover licensing... costs are too high right now. Thanks in advance, Ken

Hi,As already suggested to you, log parser is a great utility to determine the email statstics per user basis. Though the tool has a limitation that you need to know a little bit of SQL (Queries) to retrieve the data you want it is really powerful.
