Time intelligence Connection Formula calender

We are using time intelligence connection formula calender filter in performance point 2010

We are having 2 different type of requirements

1.  Date

2.  From date and To date

1.  By default filter need to show the current date

For example (if user select the previous date and click on Refresh(F5).  Today record need to load by default.

2.  From date (Start date of this month) and To date (Current date)

Report need to bring a month data by default (From date: Month start date and To date : Today date)

For 1 there are a few ways to doing this, but depend how your data model is laid out.

If you have Time tab under Data Source mapped correctly the TI should pick current date by using 'Day'.

Sometimes your current date is the latest day which has value in fact table for which you can use NON EMPTY along with descending sort.

For 2 if after you decide how to get current date you can follow his post to get From Date To Date working on a chart.

Dear Umair

If we pass the parameters, features of analytical charts such as drill downs, decomposition tree,Drill down to, pivot, etc is missing.

We need both the functionality, Please advice how to achieve it.

Unfortunately there is no way to have both. When you change the Query tab of report the context sensitive analytic options are disabled. And you cannot attach 2 filters with one axis on the report.

So you will need to decide which feature is more important.

As an alternate you can have a defined range say 3 days, 1 week, 1 month etc. so when a user selects 19th Feb your graph shows data from 13th feb - 19th feb. For this you can use Filter Link Connection formula as

<<SourceValue>>.lag(7) : <<SourceValue>>

This approach will give you range as well as the analytic features.
