I tried to use Thunderbird as mail client , then I have configured same as the link below (except I have used our exchange server address : (forumex.forum.global). http://grok.lsu.edu/Article.aspx?articleId=144 http://www.maths.ox.ac.uk/help/faqs/windows/mail/thunderbird/index.shtml Still I am receiving the error message : "connection failed,,,,,, "!!!! 1- For the "server setting" option, what is the right port number I have to choose ? 2- I have used IMAP option for the exchange server,,,,,,,Am I doing right thing ? 3- For IMAP can I use this address : forumex.forum.global ? Thanks

I have found that the current release of Exchange 2007 only seems to work over SSL connections on the IMAP protocol (port 993). For the SMTP protocol just make sure that you are using port 587 (TLS is preferred). Also, if your company just put the investment into purchasing an Exchange server, it would seem wise to just use Microsoft Outlook 2003 or better.
