Things to be noted before decommisioning Exchange 2010 server

Hi

Recently i migrated from Exchange 2010 sp3 to Exchange 2013 CU7. All service links such as owa, ecp, active sync has been pointed to Exchange 2013. All the users from Exchange 2010 has been migrated to exchange 2013.

Mail contacts and groups has been automatically migrated from Exchange 2010 to 2013.

I have some queries ..

1) I have some address list created in exchange 2010, whether i have to create address list again or no need.

2) In Exchange 2013 database properties, whether i have to map 2013 OAB manually or no need...

I am planning to keep exchange 2010 server in shut down mode for 3 days..

Is there any other steps to be followed ... please let me know..

1) No. You shouldnt need to.

2) No need since the default 2013 OAB is created during setup. You can always set another OAB to those DBs if required.

Hi

After shutting down my exchange server 2010, users facing slowness in outlook.

Some users outlook showing trying to connect, after reconfiguring the profile it working very slow...

In outlook connection status its showing 6 to 7 connection with proxy server of (mail.contoso.com) with guid and connection status establised.

But last one connection still its trying to connect to my old mail server...

I dont have any public folders, one default public folder database in Exchange 2010. I didnt do anything during migration

Is there any thing to do with public folders... how to check public folder is assigned to that user, if it is assigned how to remove that assigned public folder...

Please give me some suggestions...

Check the properties of the mailbox database ( get-mailboxdatabase) and see what is set for the public folder database.

If you have no Public Folders, then get rid of them
