There was a problem accessing registry on this computer Error and Warring
Hello Friends, i am installing exchange 2010 in a testing environment and facing some problem during the installation, i will appreciate if some one please guide me in this. during installation i found the following error: Hub Transport Role Prerequisites Error There wa a problem accessing the registery on this computer. this may happen if the Remote Registry Service is not runnring. it may also indicate a network problem or that the TCP/IP NetBios Healper services is not running. Warring: Installing Exchange SErver on a domain controler will elevate the priviliges for Exchange Trusted Subsystem to domain Administrators. i did the following as per Microsoft help: Network adaptor configuration To configure your network adaptor, follow these steps: Right-click My Network Places, and then click Properties. Right-click Local Area Connection, and then click Properties. Click Internet Protocol (TCP/IP), and then click Properties. Verify that the IP address in the Preferred DNS server box is the IP address of your internal DNS server, and then click OK two times. Right-click your external network connection, and then click Properties. Click Internet Protocol (TCP/IP), and then click Properties. Verify that the IP address in the Preferred DNS server box is the IP address of your internal DNS server. Click Advanced, click the DNS tab, click to clear the Register this connections address in DNS check box, and then click OK. In the Components checked are used by this connection list, click to clear the Client for Microsoft Networks check box, click to clear the Network Load Balancing check box, and then click to clear the File and Printer Sharing for Microsoft Networks check box. Click OK. Right-click Local Area Connection, and then click Properties. Click Internet Protocol (TCP/IP), and then click Properties. Click Advanced, and then click the DNS tab. In the DNS server addresses, in order of use list, make sure that your internal DNS server is at the top of the list, and any external DNS servers are at the bottom of the list. Click OK three times. Start Command Prompt. To do this, click Start, click Run, type CMD, and then click OK. Type the following commands, and press ENTER after each command: ipconfig /flushdns ipconfig /registerdns please also note that my this domain controller is attached with a HUB and i gave an IP 192.162.1.2 mask 255.255.255.0 D/G 192.168.1.1 DNS 192.168.1.2 and there is a Yellow Sign of Exclamation appear on my Computer ICON in the task bar (says no network access) Thanks Regards Ali Ali

1, Check your exch setup log for errors and action the errors. 2. Even though it's a test env, you wont be deploying exch on a DC in your prod env (I hope not), therefore try and make test env a real test and close as possible as your prod or your intended deploy, otherwise you may face issues when it come to deployment. 3. It's not recommended to install exch on a DC although it's possible BUT you will have MAJOR issues. So if poss deploy dc/gc on it's own server then try and install exch on another server. 4. If you've only got one server then virtualise it and do your testing (depends what you want to test in exch).Sukh

Hi, Did you solve the problem? 1. Try restarting "Remote Registry" Service and "TCP/IP NETBIOS Helper" service. 2. "enabling " File & Print for Microsoft Networks" under NIC Properties for "PRIVATE" networkPlease remember to click Mark as Answer on the post that helps you, and to click Unmark as Answer if a marked post does not actually answer your question.
