The use of Exchangefix.ldf
Hi Guys, I am just about to migrate from Exchange 2K to Exchange 2K3 and also fromWin2K AD to Win2K3 AD. I will be doing an in place upgrade of Exchange 2K to 2K3 and will then be doing the AD upgrade. I have already created my plan and was just randomly searching the web for more info on people experiences when I came across some sites talking about Exchangefix.ldf To quote the following site. http://www.windowsnetworking.com/articles_tutorials/Upgrading-Windows-NT-2000-Windows-2003-Part1.html "If you are running Exchange on your windows 2000 domain you need to run the LDF on the Windows 2003 CD called Exchangefix.ldf. You can use this with LDIFDE. This will fix the schema errors that were formed by the Exchange 2000 FORESTPREP. After this tool has run successfully you then will need to run FORESTPREP for Windows 2003." But I have also found stuff on InetOrgPerson. So the question really is.. Do I just follow... Windows Server 2003 adprep /forestprep Command Causes Mangled Attributes in Windows 2000 Forests That Contain Exchange 2000 Servers http://support.microsoft.com/kb/314649/EN-US/ Or will the E2K3 adprep fix this before I do the W2K3 adprep? Thanks Steven
