The dreaded underscore in the NETBIOS name only
Hello, A customer wants to transition from Exchange 2003 to 2010, but they have an underscore in their NETBIOS domain name. Thankfully, it is not in their DNS name. Could this present any issues even if DNS is OK? The article http://support.microsoft.com/?id=909264 doesn't mention it as a problem for NETBIOS, only DNS. Thanks

The NETBIOS name of the domain is 10 characters including the underscore. The underscore is is the fourth character in the name.

Hello I don't think you will have any issues with this. I don't think you'll have problems since it's still under 15 characters. In the future, I would stay away from special characters at the domain level.
