The OAB generation problem on the passive node in SCC cluster.
Hi everyone,
The OAB generation is failing in the Exchange Server 2007 SCC cluster environment based on Windows Server 2003. The OAB generation is completed successfully on the active Node, but it is not generated on the passive node.
My Exchange 2007 environment is:
OS: Windows Server 2007 R2 with SP 2
Exchange: Exchange 2007 with Service pack 1 (no apply Rollup 5)
Cluster Model: SCC (Single Copy Cluster) Cluster - 1 Active 1 passive
And, it logs an Event ID 2328, 9373, 9369 as following:
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Event Type: Error
Event Source: MSExchangeSA
Event Category: OAL Generator
Event ID: 2328

This indicates data tampering or disk problems. Restore files in this folder from the recent backup or clean up folder content and force a full OAB generation. - Default Offline Address Book

I can find a similar issue as these at the Google, but they only were always spoke about the Windows Server 2008 environment. For example, KB957978 is included in the "Rollup 5 or 6 for Exchange Server 2007 Service Pack 1" pack. But it is described on the Windows Server 2008 based.
In fact, I has updated Rollup 5 on passive node. However, these problem could not solve.
Please.. What can I do?

Hi,I would recommend that you apply roll-up 5. Even if the KB article says windows server 2008 it might also (and probably do) apply to windows server 2003.Leif

Check info:
1. Does the client only use outlook 2007 and its a pure exchange 2007 environment?
2. Error 8007046a indicates ERROR_NOT_ENOUGH_SERVER_MEMORY. We have no out of memory or disk issues on this server, right?
3. Please go to EMC->Properties of OAB ->Distribution tab->check Enable Web-based distribution setting
4. Please go to MBX server [C:\Program Files\Microsoft\Exchange Server], check if the OAB folder has been generated and shared. Then, go to CAS server, compare the copy of OAB folder to the original one on the MBX server
Troubleshooting:
1. For error event 9373, please try to use the methods in the KB 931744
2. For error event 9369, please see this article
3. Please verify the Microsoft Exchange File Distribution service is running normally on the CAS server
4. Please run the cmdlet against affected OAB and check the output
Get-OfflineAddressBook id Name | Fl
5. Please enable diagnostics logging for OAL generator. This would log more information into the Application logs after reproducing the issue
Set-EventLogLevel MSExchangeSA\OAL Generator -Level Expert
6. Please use this article to check the OAB generation process
