The Address List service is not running
Hi
About an hour ago, we had an issue where we couldn't move mailboxes between Exchange 2007 servers. The error message was: the address list service on the server Exch2007Mailbox1 is not running. The Exchange server address list failed to respond.
I checked Technet forums and the problem seemed to be fixed by restarting the MS Exchange Sys Attendant (SA), which I did and it did fix it!
Does anyone know WHY this would fix and it any possible causes?

The address list service is a thread within the SA process.

The Microsoft Exchange Server System Attendant is the Exchange Server core service and it controls the Offline Address Book Generator which is related to Address
List service.
For more information about Exchange core components, please refer to the following article:

Thanks.

in our case we had just updated half of the DCs in the same AD site as the server listed in the error message from 2003 to 2008. When I say upgrade i mean we replaced the DCs.TBrennan
