Test Exchange Implementation before changing MX record
Greetings all - How would I go about testing my new implementation of Exchange 2007 w/ SP1 before I go changing my MX record? I would like to ensure that our server is working correctly for receiving email from the internet. If i have screwed something up, I would hate to go without Email while the MX record re-propogates.

Hi Scofo,If the server is reachable from an external ip-address just make a telnet connection from outside for testing the e-mail. Another option is to use dyndns or another service to assign a temporary domain to the server and test sending mail to that domain.Regards,Johanblog: www.johanveldhuis.nl

Hello Scofo, As Johan said, you could use telnet to test the mail flow. XFOR: Telnet to Port 25 to Test SMTP Communication http://support.microsoft.com/?id=153119 Thanks, Elvis
