TestExchangeConnectivity tool question
Here is the lab environment - Exchange 2003 to Exchange 2010 upgrade. Currently, I am able to visit the OWA page through the CAS and it is redirecting users to the Legacy Exchange 2003 environment with no problems. Issue - when using the TestExchangeConnectivity.com tool, I get all sorts of errors when providing credentials for 2003 Mailbox enabled accounts. When I specify credentials for 2010 mailbox enabled accounts everything passes tests. Does the TestExchangeConnectivity.com tool only work for 2010 Mailbox enabled accounts? I am a bit nervous about going to the production environment with this and having RPC over HTTPs not respond correctly for our 2003 users. That would be a mess. Thanks for input, CW

Hi, I am not totally sure, but I believe that the test cmdlet only works for accounts that are located on the Exchange 2010 server. The reason for this is that Exchange 2003 doesn't have this test feature. I will recommend that you do a full test before going into production, meaning setup an outlook account to test both accounts on Exchange 2003 and 2010, remember to test both mapi and http connections. Also if possible put the lab on the internet and test with the active sync connections so you feel comfortable before going into production with the setup you want. /MartinExchange is a passion not just a collaboration software.

Hi wall, For this issue, if you configured right, RPC over HTTP can work well in this environment. But whether TestExchangeConnectivity.com tool can only work for 2010 Mailbox enabled accounts (in this environment), you can get better answer from this forum: http://social.technet.microsoft.com/Forums/en-US/exrca/threads Thanks, Evan
