Telemetry without ProPlus

Hi,

I'm looking to deploy the Office Telemetry Agent that comes built-in with Office 365 ProPlus, without deploying ProPlus.

The purpose of this is to pilot MS Visio and MS Project updates only.

Is this acheivable?

Hi Crub,

As far as I know, the Office Telemetry Agent can be installed on a computer that has Office Professional Plus 2013 or Office 365 ProPlus editions of Office 2013 installed. You can check the requirements:

  • Requires Excel 2013
  • Is installed with Office Professional Plus 2013 and Office 365 ProPlus

Hi George,

Thanks for your message, but that doesn't answer my question :)

Also, I think you are confusing the Agent and the Dashboard. Only the Dashboard requires Excel 2013.

Then, I try to install this MSI with a clean environment without Office 2013/Office 365, no successful. Thus, I think we might need to install Office 2013. For more detailed information, please read this link:

Disregard,

The telemetry "built-in" agent actually gets deployed when one installs only Project / Visio. The TechNet reference is wrong as it specifies that Office ProPlus must be deployed (https://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/jj863580.aspx), when in fact any Office 365 component seems to do the
