Tcpip.sys 5.1.2600.3002
I am probably not even in the same mind set as you all are technically because I am just a self taught person that has gotten to know my computers over time. Starting a few months ago my computer began randomly restarting. Microsoft could not help me and then today I discovered how to find why it closed down and how to fix it. I now know that I need the above referenced fix but unfortuantely searches do not help me. This fixes the TCPIP stack that is apparently not stacking correctly and restarting my computer. My OS (see I do know some of the abbreviations) is XP and obviously service pak 2 as I see the Hotfix says. Can someone please help me to find this fix as this is driving me absolutely crazy. I publish an online magazine and there is nothing more frustrating to have a page built and your computer restarts itself loosing all I have done. If someone has this fix and can send to me, pleasewrite out pretty explicit guideline on how to install it. I have no idea how to do something like this but can follow the written word well. Thanks.

I went to start, thenright clicked on"My Computer" and then to "System Tools" and then to "Even Viewer" and then to "System" and looked for the common error that was occuring and just to be sure I was correct I waited for it to happen again and then I went and checked the time and date and looked at the log. The numbers in the log coinsided with what the problem was and when I clicked on it I was taken to a Microsoft site that told me this was the fix I needed. Sandi

I am having the same problems and looking for this file. In true Microsoft fashion, they want me to pay them to fix their bug. Anyone have a Mac for sale?

How is it possible for you to be maze bright enough tofind technet forums but not be maze bright enough to post in the proper place where you might actually receive assistance? "hey want me to pay them to fix their bug" You actually called Microsoft support for a bug fix and they wanted to charge you? Please, more details. If they have google on your internet, take the Event ID and search for it there. Horse, water. Water, horse.

RichLambert - Dude you are a ***. Perhaps you fail to realize that this particular error with MostlyCrap (Microsoft) doesn't give you the option to download the file. They want you to pay them to fix this. Personally with the crappy new OS I would also prefer a MAC at this point. However, if it wasn't for Microsoft I and my department would be out of a job! For your enjoyment here is the link to the issue. http://support.microsoft.com/kb/925922/en-us

I'm sure you and your department are intelligent enough to apply your skills to another operating system.
