TLS for a remote domain - Exchange 2010

friends i have a client who is dealing some business with a bank and bank asked them that they need to have TLS enabled on their exchange server for them to send email to us and vice versa. I am not sure what needs to be done as i have created a send and receive connector for that domain and enabled enforced TLS but still it is not working. i am not sure what i am missing. can some one please help me for the smae.

do i need some kind of SSL. i dnt have a SSL for that bank domain. my exchange have a SL from geotrust for OWA and other access. but not for bank domain. please a

Once you enable TLS on the receive and send connectors you just have to make sure your cert is enabled for SMTP as well. You do not need a cert for the bank, only for your domain so the bank trust you when you send/receive mail from them.

You will have to enable it on your Smart Host. By default all the Smart Host provider will have Opportunistic TLS enabled. You will have to use Enforced TLS to have secure communication between you and your client/vendor etc.

What smart host you are using? On Premises or Cloud?
