Synchronizing Contacts error (too large?)
Hi all, We just created a large Distribution List of approximately 250 addresses in a shared Contacts. This new DL wasn't showing up for others and in looking at the Sync logs these errors are seen, 14:20:46 Synchronizer Version 12.0.6539 14:20:46 Synchronizing Mailbox 'User 1' 14:20:46 Synchronizing local changes in folder 'Shared - Contacts' 14:20:46 Uploading to server 'ads-mbx-02.exchange.xxxxxx.edu' 14:20:46 Error synchronizing message 'Faculty List' 14:20:46 [8007000E-50C-0-323] 14:20:46 There is not enough memory available to perform the operation. 14:20:46 Microsoft Exchange Information Store 14:20:46 For more information on this failure, click the URL below: 14:20:46 http://www.microsoft.com/support/prodredirect/outlook2000_us.asp?err=8007000e-50c-0-323 14:20:46 Moved a message that failed synchronization to 'Local Failures'. Our Exchange server cluster is currently undergoing upgrades from v2007 to v2010 and I don't yet know if these mailboxes have been migrated to the new version (if v2010 addresses this issue at all). Outlook clients are v2007 (SP3) Any help appreciated, thanks, David

Sounds like: http://support.microsoft.com/kb/974415 You cannot save a contact in Outlook 2007 if the certificate data for the contact is larger than 32 kilobytes

Thank you for the response. I've read this KB but part of me thinks it shouldn't apply as the contacts in the DL shouldn't have any associated certificate data. Though perhaps some do and we just don't know it. I'd read previous issues with Exchange when dealing with larger Distribution lists but that SP3 for 2007 fixed these issues. I'll try to implement the suggested registry changes and hotfix suggested by the KB and will report back if that helps or not. David
