I would like to make the recent documents list in Word the same regardless of which PC the user logs into and independant of operating system version.

Has anyone had success doing something like export the registry settings during logoff and then import during logon?

which references the path used in Office 2013 if the user is signed into their Microsoft account. 

In 2013 versions of Word, Excel, etc, the path is: HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Office\15.0\Excel\User MRU\AD_xxxxxxx\File MRU where AD_xxxxxxx seems to be a hash or guid of some sort.
