Sync War between OneDrive & Office Upload Center

Just purchased Office 365 University.

Installed fine, everything is running.

However...

I use the OneDrive application which runs in the taskbar tray to keep all my documents synced, it worked perfectly. Since installing the new Office I now also have "Microsoft Office Upload Center" running in the tray.

When I open an existing OneDrive document in Word 2013, and click "Save", Word syncs it with the server. But then, OneDrive also tries to sync it and it causes a clash. OneDrive is telling me the document has been modified and causes sync errors.

This is really starting to annoy me because whenever I make slight edits to any documents, both parties are trying to sync and I'm getting constant error messages popping up.

How on earth can I stop "Office Upload Center"?

As far as I can see there is no way of disabling it on startup, I'm running 8.1 Pro. I would much prefer to let OneDrive do the syncing on it's own. I do NOT want to have to uninstall or stop OneDrive from syncing.

Any help would be appreciated.

I've found a temporary fix too.
Although "Rename or delete MSOUC.EXE" didn't work for me (the Office Upload Center still loaded), I've renamed MSOSYNC.EXE, found at the same directory,

 C:\Program Files\Microsoft Office 15\root\office15

and right after that, I renamed CSISYNCCLIENT.EXE, found at

C:\Program Files\Microsoft Office 15\root\vfs\ProgramFilesCommonX86\Microsoft Shared\OFFICE15, in my case.

So, I restarted the system and Voil! the Office Upload Center did not loaded!!  :-) And also OneDrive sync has stopped....  :-(

But.... After that I disconnected the OneDrive sync and right after reconnected. And ready! No more sync clashes! No more "3.182 files with sync errors!!"

I have the same problem on my side... very very very annoying.

I always have Onedrive synching first and then Office Upload Center tells me:

Authentication required (Anmeldung erforderlich)

i click *resolve*

then i get "file on server was updated"

... i highly suppose because Onedrive was quicker than the upload center...

So what should i do? Kill the upload center manually?
Is there no proper solution...?

Wait for Windows 10?

Upgrading rarely fixes problems. ODfB is buggy. I understand they are working on a new ODfB client that should fix a lot of the sync problems but don't know when it will be released.

I now followed the above advice now and renameed and then task-killed those exes:

MSOSYNC.EXE
CSISYNCCLIENT.EXE

Seems that Office Center now lies quiet.

Only SideEffect that Skydrive now apparently downloaded Documents from Onedrive which were uploaded before by the Upload Center and now named them:

Document.xlsx
Document - Computername.xlsx

.. so gotta clean that up tonight and then i hope everything works again..

What a way to advertise your cloud services:
Program 3 Programs (Win 8.1 Integration, Onedrive.exe / Skydrive.exe, Upload center) and make them fight each other..

I also had this problem and the easiest solution I found for this is to right click on Onedrive in the system tray, go to settings and disable "Use Office to work on files with other people at the same time".
