Switching from a hosted POP3 solution to Exchange 2007 seamlessly
Hello, My organization is currently using a hosted POP3 mail solution and I am in the process of taking emails in house, using Exchange 2007. I am looking for some documentation that will take me through the process step by step of what I have to do to get my emails switched over from pop3 to exchange, with little disruption in service. Also, I am looking for some information that will walk me thru the process of using a different email domain than my exchange server domain. Any assistance/resources will be greatly helpful. FYI, I have very little Exchange experience in setting up a configuring. I have just administered it never started from scratch, so in that sense I am a newbie. Thanks!!!

That's a lot to cover. May i reccomend this book: http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/0735624100/sr=1-1/qid=1156801743/ref=sr_1_1/104-6313703-3867159?ie=UTF8&s=books or similar. You'll have to do a lot of things on Exchange such as define your architecture internally, your accepted domains, spam/virus filtering etc. Also keep in mind that when you change the MX record in DNS to point to exchange it'll still be cached on non-authoratative DNS servers so you may have to run in parellel mode for up to 3 days.

Thanks for the advice! I was kinda thinking that it would best to go this route first. Does anyone else have any reccomendation on which books/study materials I should pick up to quickly learn how to setup and congifure Exchange 2007? I am good with the administration side, its the setting up that I haven't had the chance to be too involved with. Thanks a Million!
