Sub Contact folders not showing up in OWA ( Exch 2003 Ent)
Hello all I'm shouting out to the world hoping to get a response to this question that is vexing me.... Why is it when my users access their E-mail over OWA, even though they can see in the folder contacts and sub-folders in the Folder view? When they go to compose a new message in OWA they click on "New" and then the "TO" button to access the contacts but the only two listing is for Global Address list and Contacts.. but the Sub-folders for contacts are not there.... and if you attempt to search for a contact in one of those sub-contact folders OWA can't find them. Any help will be appreciated!

Hi, As i understand it u have created shared contact address book public folder. If so then plz check the permission on the contact public folder on exchange server, as these permissions are controlled on exch server. My Apologies for not explaining my issue…. I have a user that has of course a Contacts folder in Outlook (on exchange 2003) He also has Child contact folders under the parent Contact foldere.g. Contact ->Sub-contact1 ->Sub-contact2 None of these are in public folders and they are not shared contact folders as well. Meaning that only that specific user uses them or has access. The issue is when the user logs into OWA and looks in the Folder Views he can see all his contacts and the sub contact folders… No problem.. right? The issues is when my user is in OWA and goes to compose a new message he wants to look for the persons E-mail address by Clicking on “TO” thus bringing up the find feature type in the person’s name and find them. Alas, when we do this it will only show names in the Root or parent contact folder and not any names or folders views for the sub or child contact folders….I was my position that this was an unsupported function of OWA in Exch 2003 but I have been unable to find an answer either way… so if you know how to do it and make it show… Great! If it’s not supported please let me know.
