Start-EdgeSynchronization not Working on Exchange 2007
I run the com start-edgesynchronization on the Hub Server and it doesn't seem to work. I don't get any success messages and when I go over to edge Edge server no send connects have been created. Any Ideas? I have a bunch of mail hung in my queue. Thanks in advance for your assistance.

Hi, 1. Please check whether the Edge Subscription file has been created and import the file into hub transport server 2. Verify that DNS host name resolution is successful from the Edge Transport server to the Hub Transport servers, and from the Hub Transport servers to the Edge Transport server. 3. Verify that the TCP Port 50636 (Default Setting) has been opened on the firewall between Edge Transport Server and Hub Transport Server. 4. Verify that the initial EdgeSync occurs in 24 hours after creating the Edge Subscription file on the Edge Server. If the above setting is correct, please run the following command to test the EdgeSync and post the result here: Test-EdgeSynchronization Please also view the Application Log to check whether any errors are recorded regarding MSExchange EdgeSync. If yes, please also post the information here. I have similar issue. Start-EdgeSynchronization returns: * * * * Result : CouldNotConnectType : GeneralName : CN=edge,CN=Servers,CN=Exchange Administrative Group (FYDIBOHF23SPDLT),CN=Administrative Groups,CN =St Joseph Exchange,CN=Microsoft Exchange,CN=Services,CN=Configuration,DC=mydomain,DC=lanFailureDetails : The LDAP server is unavailable.StartUTC : 9/5/2008 12:45:02 AMEndUTC : 9/5/2008 12:45:02 AMAdded : 0Deleted : 0Updated : 0Scanned : 0TargetScanned : 0 * * * * * * nslookup returns edge server address i can ping edge.mydomain.org. and get correct response Every few minutes I get several messages in event log: Source: MSExchange Edge Sync EventID: 10104 Microsoft Exchange couldn't match certificate when contacting edge.st-joseph.org. The connection was stopped. *** Source: MSExchange Edge Sync Event ID: 1024 Category: Topology The connection to the ADAM instance of the Edge Transport server failed with exception "The LDAP server is unavailable.". This could be caused by a failure to resolve the Edge Transport server name edge.st-joseph.org in DNS, a failure when trying to connect to port 50636 on Edge Transport server edge.mydomain.org, network connectivity issues, an invalid certificate, or an expired subscription. There are no self-signed certs on either computer. Is this important ? cert thumbprint ending in ...129 (top most) is only VALID cert on either server. Thanks in advance !
