Staff unable to edit/delete their own pre-migration calendar events

I have just recently migrated from Exchange 2010 to Exchange 2013. This included the migration of Public Folders. All data for the Public Folders appeared to come across with no issues and access is no issue either.

After a couple of days we started receiving SD calls advising staff are unable to edit/delete their own public folder calendar entries, it also shows "(Read Only)" in the title. They are have Author permissions on the folder and can create new items.

I have tried to delete and re-add permissions, but the only thing that resolves the issue is to grant Editor or higher permissions, which is not an answer for us.

Any feedback would be greatly welcomed.

Cheers,

Damian

Hi Damian,

Generally, the Author permission can only delete and edit owned items. Instead, the Editor permission can edit and delete all items including owned items.

Please open the edited Calendar items, check and make sure the Calendar items which are shown Read-Only are owned by the client user. Then run the following command to check the Public Folder permission:

Get-PublicFolderClientPermission "\TestPF"

Hi Winnie,

The calendar entries are their own. I have even confirmed this with MFCMapi by checking the PR_CREATOR_ENTRYID property on the object and also confirmed with the Get-PublicFolderClientPermission that the users have permissions.

The only thing I noticed was that the PR_CREATOR_ENTRYID was pointing to the LegacyExchangeDN address for the user, though not sure if this is the problem or not...

Do you have any further suggestions?

Thanks,

Damian
