Some messages not being delivered sporadically. Exchange 2003.
What is happening is our exchange server will push some Email into the abyss and will not deliver them till we reboot the server. You can check the queues and it will show nothing and no NDR will be generated. Here is a screen shot from one that is hanging out in lala land. SMTP: Store Driver: Message Submitted from Store SMTP: Message Submitted to Advanced Queuing SMTP: Started message submission to advanced queue SMTP: Message submitted to categorizer SMTP: Message categorized and queued for routing SMTP: message routed and queued for remote delivery SMTP: Started outbound transfer of message Can anyone let me know if they have seen this before and how to fix it. Our configuration is 2003 Server Standard Edition SP2, Exchange Server 2003 Enterprise SP2. Thanks. D

And to add on what Amit posted, have you applied the latest hotfixes?http://support.microsoft.com/kb/950757"E-mail senders do not receive an indication that some messages have been held by Exchange Server 2003 until the SMTP service, the Microsoft Exchange Information Store service, or the Exchange server is restarted"
