Hi Steve,

Id like to make a summary for this thread: Your organization uses a software to send the emails with SMTP. There emails are classified with two kinds, one is called notification emails and the other is called task emails. The task emails were shown as Chinese characters (unreadable). It affected all Outlook users in your organization. Moreover, the mails were readable in your Outlook After they were forwarded from the sent folder in a G-mail account. The emails in the G-mail account were shown correctly, they were forwarded with a suitable font. Thus the issue should be that some special email font cant be shown correctly in Outlook client. I recommend you post a new thread with details to our Outlook forum where the engineers can provide a more professional help and better service. Your understanding is much appreciated.

Based on Alan's reply, it's related to the font. Let's test if the issue persists when the task emails are sent with a different font.

Please also let me know if there is any notable difference between the task emails and notifications emails, such as the font, email format and so on.

If you think there is anything that Alan didn't mention, please also let me know.

Notification emails are pretty plain, where the task emails contain a little more detail and formatting. I can not add snapshots of the mail examples on this thread.  There are 2 columns on the task, a heading that is bold, 

Checking with vendor on how I might be able to change fonts of these outgoing messages from software.  Not sure I can.

Vendor said no real way to change font in emails that are sent.  Did suggest I go to a XSLT file and try changing some things.  Nothing has worked yet.  The encoding is set to UTF-8 now; suggestions on others I could try?   I tried UTF-7 with no luck.  

Are there specific images you want to see?  files?  I have tried several things and nothing has worked so far.
