Software Protection service does not stop in a timely manner

I believe this started after one of the recent Patch Tuesdays but I can't say that that's what caused it.

Our issue is that when the Software Protection service stops, as it was designed to, after reaching the default run time of 5 minutes it takes longer than normal thus when an end user tries to launch one of the Microsoft Office applications they receive the pop up "Microsoft Office can't find your license for this application. A repair attempt was unsuccessful or was cancelled. Microsoft Office Will now exit."

I have attempted to temporarily band-aided the issue by increasing the amount of time that the Software Protection service runs but we would like to get the issue resolved.

Doesn't help. The issue is when the service stops.

Also it doesn't seem to be happening today which I can't say if that's a good thing or a bad thing lol...
