Smaller line space between folders & data files in folder pane

In Outlook 2010 I used to have 10 data files (with folders in each) in the left Folder Pane for me to file emails into. Now in Outlook 2013, there is so much wasted space between the folders and data files that I need to continually scroll up and down to find the folder to move the email into.

There needs to be an ability to reduce the font size in the folder pane and also reduce the line spacing between them as well to make it more compact. It makes it absolutely frustrating as hell using Outlook 2013 for this small issue. Even if I collapse all the data files so that I just see the names of each of them, it only barely fits on the screen. So as soon as I expand one of them I have to start scrolling.

In Outlook 2010 I pretty much never had to scroll and could easily and quickly move things to different folders in different data files as there was no scrolling nonsense.

Any ways to fix this before I downgrade to Outlook 2010?

Hi,

Based on my long-time research, I cant find the way to change the space between folders & data files in folder pane. Its by design and cannot be changed by far.

You could click the smiley button  in the upper-right corner of Outlook, and send your suggestions and feedback to Microsoft. Our product team will periodically review these suggestions, and consider whether to add the feature in future updates according to the demands.

Your suggestion is very importent to us. Thanks.

I'm afraid that there might no way to ruduce the gap between the different data files showing in Navigation Pane.

Any clue if Office 16 is going to fix this issue ?

Outlook is supposed to be the ultimate email software for Windows.

Outlook 2010 folder pane fills my 30in monitor (2560X1600).  Takes the entire height.  I'm border line having to use scrollbars between all accounts.

In order to be able to use a more recent version of Office, I'd need to buy another identical monitor and put that new one in portrait mode...

Quite an expensive fix for a simple design issue.

Update:

Tried latest preview version of Office 2016.  Issue is even worse.

They've added more space between each imap subfolder...

And even more spacing between between the account name and Inbox.

Issue reported by the OP is amplified by another 50% in the latest office 2016 preview.

Sent a frown for that.  But the REST of office 2016 looks awesome.  If only they could fix that one.

I have same complaint. Huge spacing in Outlook between open pst files makes it very difficult to navigate. I keep a separate pst file for each project, and I have 20 different projects at any time.

Thinking of going back to Office 2007 just for this reason.

Office 2016 is now included in the the "Windows Feedback"

I did open a thread in there for that issue.

Those complaining for the same thing and that are on windows 10 should go on windows feedback and click "upvote".
