Skype for business show incorrect status

We upgrade lync to Skype for business from Lync. Few users start to report the Skype for business status is incorrect. For example, User John is online but I see John  is inactive on status but user Betty  can see user John  is online. Is anyone experience this ?

What is the problem ?

Thanks in advance

Hi AuAlbert!

It looks like the SQL BackEnd is not updating correctly the status for the Rtcdyn Database which stores dynamic Lync/Skype user data such as presence information.

You can test this after apply the following commands from Lync/Skype for Business PowerShell:

If you have Standard Front End Pool:

Install-CsDatabase -Update -LocalDatabases

If you have Enterprise Front End Pool:

Install-CsDatabase -Update -ConfiguredDatabases -SqlServerFqdn <EnterpriseEdition BackEnd FQDN> -UseDefaultSqlPaths

Finally, execute the step 2 from Deployment Wizard in each Front End Server.

After complete these steps, logout from Lync/Skype and login back. Please let us know the results.

Hope it helps.

Regards.

AuAlbert,

All of the users have been migrated to Skype or do you still have Lync and Skype?

there might be some differences between  Lync and SFB client  user experience,  since the new client (SFB) user experience that is based on the Skype consumer product experience.

AuAlbert,

Since you are using Skype for Business Online, in this case, the commands will not help on this, only for On-premises environment. At this time, my suggestion is to open a support case with Microsoft in order to troubleshoot the issue from the Online side. From that I know, this kind of cases are free for Skype for Business Online support.

Regards.
