Skype For Business - Cannot open links

Whenever a collegue sends me a link, or i send them a link to a website, we cannot open them.

We get the message the link is invalid or is blocked through security reasons.

We cannot find a solution in the settings for Skype for Business.

! We are using office 2016 preview with skype for business and all have office 365 accounts.

Hi,

For this issue, we can check the default programs. Please make sure Skype for Business and Internet Explorer have been both set as default.

In Windows 8.1, browse to: Control Panel\Programs\Default Programs\Set Default Programs

Select Skype for Business and Internet Explorer and make them as default.

If you are using another browser, do the same for it.

If this method doesn't work, please let me know the exact error message so that I can do more research.

Hello,

Melon Chen,

I have applied the fix you suggested but the issue still remains. This is the error message we are getting after clicking a hyperlink in skype.

Skype for Business

After clicking the link, the webpage http://www.google.com was not loaded casue this is either invalid or limited due to security measurements. For more information contact the system administrator.

(Translation from dutch)

Looking forward to hearing from you.

Hi,

How about in other Office programs, like Word or Excel, click a hyperlink in them, does the issue persist?

We can all open links in other office programs. Just skype for business is giving us a hard time. We've been looking into possible restrictions from our Lync Online server but we cannot see how this could be an issue as to before when we were using Lync 2013 we could work just fine.

I am also having this issue after installing Skype for Business this week. My error is a bit different though as I cannot open a link from any office product now. I receive error "Something went wrong with this URL the system cannot find the file specified" and also frequent  "The ordinal XXX could not be located in the dynamic link library iertutil.dll"
