Hi, we are about to deploy SkyDrive Pro throughout the organisation, however with the recent rebrand to OneDrive for business I wondered when there would be an MS update to rebrand existing installations?

This would affect the deployment date, as if we create a deployment with supporting documentation for SkyDrive which then a week later changes to OneDrive this will will mean a re-write.

We don't need to do anything to change the name of SkyDrive App, this change will happen automatically. The updates won't change your account or the way you're used to working with the website and apps.

As far as I know, Microsoft always releases updates in the second week every month, maybe  there will be an update soon.

The rebrand seems to be happening gradually. If I were in your shoes, I'd refer to it as OneDrive for Business, and hope that it will all be done by the time you actually deploy. If it is not, then you can show you are ahead of the game, and if necessary add a note to that effect. I would also add a note in the documentation warning of Microsoft's confused naming system, whereby OneDrive for Business is also referred to as OneDrive even though they are entirely separate systems, with different features sets. Furthermore OneNote actually requires login with accounts in BOTH if you want to use it with OneDrive for Business.

"OneDrive" is humorously ironic since it confuses the issue even further than SkyDrive by suggesting that there is only one type of drive. These guys crack me up.

Hi,

Need an urgent help.

I am facing an issue with the onedrive for business. I have installed the desktop version of onedrive for business and have set the sync library between onedrive sharepoint URL & local folder (d:\onedrive). After setting up the sync library, copied a file to the d:\onedrive and when syncing the file, it throws an error permissions needed. Contact local IT support desk.

I have checked the permissions on onedrive sharepoint under site settings and all seems to be fine.

I have setup the same for another office 365 user and it works fine.

Can anyone please suggest something needful that can help me to resolve the issue?
