Single WebDAV URL for MS Exchange 2007 & 2003
Hi,
We have a DEV environment with 3 exchange servers in mixed mode as below.
Exchange Server 2003: Server01
Exchange Server 2007 (CAS & HT): Server02
Exchange Server 2007 (Mailbox): Server03
Our application accesses the mailboxes using WebDAV and performs operations. WebDAV is installed on the mailbox server role (Server03).
Here are the scenarios that we have tested and stuck with.
· The user whose mailbox is on Exchange 2003 (Server01) accessing through
http://server03/exchange is successfully being redirected to the back-end server.
· The user whose mailbox is on Exchange 2007 (Server03) accessing through
http://server03/exchange is NOT being redirected to the mailbox server. Instead, it is redirecting to
http://server02/owa which is a CAS server and asking for authentication 2 times which our application cannot handle.
We would like to understand if the single URL i.e.,
http://server03/exchange can be used for the users who are on both Exchange 2003 and Exchange 2007.
Please note that we are focusing only on WebDAV; OWA is out of scope.
Can someone please help me in configuring this.
Thank you,
Sunny

Hi,
It could be by design. We can check example from
http://msexchangeteam.com/archive/2007/02/07/434523.aspx
Example:
1 Exchange 2007 CAS-only server
1 Exchange 2007 Mailbox-only server
1 Exchange 2003 BE server
Mailboxes on both Exchange 2007 and 2003 servers
If the your mailbox is on an E2007 server
requests to /owa will return the OWA 2007 experience requests to /exchange on the CAS or Mailbox server will redirect the user to /owa. Authentication credentials transparently passed through.
requests to /exchange on the BE will direct the user to the CAS, but the user may need to be authenticated again
requests to /public will be directed to /public on the BE server requests to /exchweb will be directed to the BE server or return nothing
