Single AD/Domain, Two Sites, Two Exchange Servers 2010
So I have two sites with a single AD and a controller in each site connected by VPN, each site has Exchange 2010 installed, I have been looking for some straight forward setup notes for the above description to be able to connect the two servers, mail is going to flow in and out through one and forward to the other. Any pointers in the right direction would be appreciated. Thanks Chris

Hi So you have 2 servers, 1 in each site with all roles? Just make sure your receive connectors are in place and works, then Exchange will take care of the rest. If a mail goes to server 1 but the mailbox is located in the other site, server 1 will contact the hub server in the other site and send it over Check this link for internal routing http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/bb232193.aspx Jonas Andersson MCTS: Microsoft Exchange Server 2007/2010 | MCITP: EMA 2007/2010 | MCSE/MCSA Blog: http://www.testlabs.se/blog

one of the exchange serve will need to point to the MX record for your domian. and you would need to send and recieve connectors configured on this server to send and recieve emails from internet. that is all you need. as jonas said this server will automatically detect and route emails to the HT on the other site if destination mailbox locates in that site.
