Sharing calendar on exchange server while using a pop3 email account
Hello,We have an exchange server installed but it is not being used. Currently our email accounts are on the hosting company for our web domain and we are using outlook with pop3 for reading emails.I want to share my calender with another user on the domain (with active directory) but I still want to use the same email configuration. How can i setup pop3 email account on exchange account and how can I share the calendar? Thanks

there are two options that come to mind: use a pop3 connector. in this configuration, exchange will download email from your registrar's site on your user's behalf. it will then populate their exchange mailboxes. from here users connect to exchange like normal. unless you are using the small business server product, microsoft doesn't have a pop3 connector for use with exchange built in. but here is a good list: http://www.slipstick.com/exs/popconnect.asp add the exchange as a secondary account to everyone's outlook profile. you can instruct outlook to deliver mail to the exchange mailbox. You can also have your default account be the pop3 account. From there you can import everyone's existing pst, or just let them use it as an archive. I've done both options before and #2 works well but you have to go to the users desktop to troubleshoot mailflow. #1 is more centrally managed but you have to pretty much ask everyone for their password. hope this helps! -mike

Could you give a more detailed approach to this. I have a client using the small business server and Exchange. They want to share claenders but can not. The email sends and recieves fine. But when trying to share calenders the message comes up that exchange server is not online. Is this the right fix for this? Thanks Matt
