Shared mailbox question
I don't know if this is best practice but I am filing a roll and the current practice is in place. We have many shared mailboxes (ccr exchange 2007 sp1 2008r2 funct level dc's) and these shared mailboxes are linked to Gerneric accouts. Question if these accounts are disbled in active directory ( which I perfer to do) will users that have access to these mailboxes still be able to send mail out from these mailboxes? If you create them as shared mailboxes the account is usually disabled. As long as the users who access the shared mailbox have the required permissions (Send As) then it works fine. I would also suggest you upgrade to at least Exchange 2007 SP2 or preferably SP3. Simon.Simon Butler, Exchange MVP Blog | Exchange Resources | In the UK? Hire Me.

Thanks I'll ask about ccr and sp upgrades in another question to help others in my same boat find the response easier. I found the answers to the ccr sp installations http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/bb676320%28EXCHG.80%29.aspx Landus Burroughs
