Shared email for projects
Hello, I was wondering what the rest of you all do concerning how to share emails for projects without having shared mailboxes? Say, we have a dept of 50 people that all work on a single project, each get different emaisl for their contribution in the project but they want to consolidate all the emails for said project into a single place to see all emails pertining to that project, what is the best way to handle this without creating a public folder or shared mailbox that would quickly get out of hand?

Hi, I think you should create mail enabled Public Folder and than give access to your all users to that particular folder. Regards. Shafaquat Ali.M.C.I.T.P Exchange 2007/2010, M.C.I.T.P Windows Server 2008, M.C.T.S OCS Server 2007 R2, Phone: +923008210320

I've had great success using WSS. Both by email enabling a library, and using the Oulook/SharePoint integration. That way users can either email or forward to the library, or they can drag and drop to a SharePoint "folder" in Outlook 2007/2010. SharePoint puts all the content in an indexed, secured library... great for archival.

Thank you but we already have one shared mailbox that is over 100gb in size and two others that average around 50gb in size. I don't want to create another monster as these mailboxs are massive and hard to keep running in tip top shape. We deal with hundreds of projects daily many spannign back several years, thousands of messages and attachments.

Thank you. So you think sharepoint could be the answer to our email sharing problems?

Yes, I would suggest you look at it more. I've had a lot of luck with it, and I think it is a better option than public folders by far.
