Shared Mailboxes
Hi Guys, I have a shared mailbox which handles customer queries to our Service Desk. Recently some mails have been going missing and I'd like to clamp down on it a bit. However when I try to restrict access to the mailbox it appears that moving messages around subfolders requires the same level of access as to delete. Is there anyway to restrict people from deleting mails but allow them to move them? Alternatively what options do I have for monitoring, can I see who deleted a mail?

Hello John, It's always a headache to manage & monitor shared mailboxes. You can open shared mailbox with PFDavAdmin and try by giving various permissions on folders inside mailbox but I have doubt that you can set moving permission without giving delete. It is not possible natively in Exchange to audit/monitor at item level inside mailboxand you may need to see some third-party tools to achieve this. You can have a look at below utilities. http://www.netpro.com/products/security-compliance/change-auditing/ChangeAuditor-for-Exchange/ http://www.quest.com/InTrust-Plug-in-for-Exchange/
