Shared Contacts Folder Not Showing Up in Outlook
Exchange Server 2010. Outlook 2010. Windows Server 2008 R2. Windows 7. We have a shared contacts folder called "Good News Contacts" in the "Public Folders." In Outlook when I select folders view, the shared contacts folder shows up. I have checked the "Show this folder as an email address book" box on the "Outlook Address Book" tab of the folder's properties. I have also added this shared folder to the Favorites. Normally these actions result in the shared address book showing up under a "Other Contacts" folder group when I am in contacts view in Outlook. Since moving to Exchange 2010 and Outlook 2010, this shared contacts folder more often than not does not show up under the "Other Contacts." Sometimes it show up there, but many other times when I go into Outlook it is not there. What might be the problem or solution here? Hi Chaplain, Sorry for late reply, I try to tested in my lab (Exchange 2010 SP1 Rollup6 and Outlook 2010): When I follow your steps, I can see Other contacts under contact view. but many other times when I go into Outlook it is not there. What might be the problem or solution here? For this issue, I suggest you go to check whether that shared folder has been added to the Favorites (when you cannot see Other contacts under contact view). The shared contacts (which reside in public folders) has been added to favorites. It has been marked as "Show as Address Book." Everything that I always do that normally makes it show up under Other Contacts is done. It is simply not showing up or showing up intermittently. That is the issue.Doug Pruiett Good News Jail & Prison Ministry Richmond, Virginia www.goodnewsjail.org

I find that when one of my posts gets lots of views and no answers, that it might be an operator (me) problem. This was once again true in this case. The "problem" was that I (and another user) had collapsed the Other Contacts list and this thought it empty. We expnaded the list and the "problem" went away. Thanks for all the views.Doug Pruiett Good News Jail & Prison Ministry Richmond, Virginia www.goodnewsjail.org
