Shape properties windows missing

Hi,

I'm using Visio 2010.

Recently I cannot see the Properties Window for UML shapes...

When I right click on the shape, the context menu appear. But when I click on Properties, no window appears. Now I'm stuck as I don't know how else to input attributes and other data in the UML shapes.

I've un-installed it, rebooted and reinstall but it's the same.

Is there a way to reset all settings in Visio?

OR

Clean re-install, resetting all window positions, etc etc.

Thanks.

I ran into a similar issue and this is an annoying problem.  A simple work around is to draw a simple box and send it to the back of the UML shape.  Group them together and add the shape data if you want to configure the attributes.  You can draw a box using the developer menu that you have to add to the ribbon in Visio 2010.  I hope this helps.

I am having the same problem. I also reinstalled. It worked for a bit and stopped working.

Class diagrams without properties are useless. Can someone acknowledge this is broken or explain the behavior?

Hi,

There is a non academic way to reset all visio to default.

Launch regedti from the window run menu locate the registry key "HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Office\14.0\Visio" and delete it.

Using it with caution and for more secure export the key before deleting it.

Hope it can

Removing the registry keys for Visio solved my problem: the UML menu in the ribbon had disappeared.
