Setting up a separate AutoDiscover website in IIS7
Does anyone have a procedure for setting up the AutoDiscover website in IIS7? I am breaking out AutoDiscover into its own website and security it with a separate certificate. I think I have most of the procedures, but everything is pointing to setting up the site under IIS6 (Server 2003). I am running Exchange 2007 SP2 on a Windows 2008 Server, which is of course running IIS7. Thanks in advance for the assistance.

I presume you already have the website created for hosting your broken out autodiscover virtual directory. You can use the cmdlet New-AutoDiscoverVirtualDirectory -websitename "autodiscover.contoso.com" -WindowsAuthentication $true -DigestAuthentication $true You dont need to worry about the version of IIS you are using. You can simply use EMS for creating it. Well, I have just found out that I am in need of some additional assistance. I am in the middle of a forest migration right now, which makes this all a little bit (read: LOT) more difficult. It appears that (at some point) after I added the 3rd party certificate to my Default Website and specified an external IP -AND- set up AutoDiscover settings (probably incorrectly), that my mail relay configuration stopped working. I am relaying mail from my Exchange 2007 server through an Exchange 2003 server in my source forest. Therefore, outbound mail is going through the Exchange 2003 server to reach the Internet. After I made these last changes, I now receive a #550 5.7.1 Unable to relay error from my Exchange 2003 server. I am thinking this probably has something to do with DNS, but I am not certain. Does anybody have any advice on this?

Hi, First please use get-autodiscoverVirtualDirectory |fl to check the value for internalurl and Exterenalurl and post here. Please try to browse the internalurl and externalurl from Internet Explorer and then post the result here. Please try to use https://www.testexchangeconnectivity.com/ from external network and then check the autodiscover connectivity status. Besides, I'd like to recommend you to test email auto-configuration from outlook and then post the result here. For error #550 5.7.1 Unable to relay, please check the send connector that you have created. You can use get-sendconnector |fl and then post here.
