Server Error in '/ecp' Application.

Hello all,

Since few days, i have an issue on an Exchange 2013 CU6 installed on W2012r2

It happens after the intervention of a third party (installing a pop2exchange soft and messing up with my Exchange config while I was away...)

1) EMS was not connecting to my exchange anymore

Powershell Virtual directory was modified and MsExchPowerShellAppPool was remove: I took care of it and now EMS is working fine. (added the app pool back and remove/recreate the VirtualDIR for Powershell in the default website)

2) https://exchange2013/ECP and https://exchange2013/owa are not working

I found many posts and here is what I tried:

- Reset ECP+OWA virtual directory (remove/recreate) from default website and back end

- Start over with a new web.config (the one located under \Exchange Server\V15\FrontEnd\HttpProxy\ecp)

- Under IIS Remove and Add AppPool for ECP

- Remove the ECP folder under C:\Windows\Microsoft.NET\Framework64\v4.0.30319\Temporary ASP.NET Files

Here after is a screenshot of what happens when i browse for ECP

(All assembly files mentioned in the error are present in the folder)

Event Viewer show this (filter to display only warning and error)

There is no direct impact on production since they only use Outlook client 2010.

I am stuck so any suggestions are very welcome.

Thanks to the community in advance!

Hi,

I noticed the error Source File is from D:\Program Files\Microsoft\Exchange Server\V15\FrontEnd\HttpProxy\ecp\web.config. Please confirm which driver is used for Exchange installation, C or D.

Please check Application settings in IIS Application under Exchange Back End web site for BinSearchFolders value (supposing it is located in C driver):

a. Open IIS Manager. Expand Sites > Exchange Back End.

b. Click ecp. Open Application Settings in /ecp Home.

c. Please check whether the value for BinSearchFolders is changed to an invalid value. If so, please change it to:

C:\Program Files\Microsoft\Exchange Server\V15\bin;C:\Program Files\Microsoft\Exchange Server\V15\bin\CmdletExtensionAgents;C:\Program Files\Microsoft\Exchange Server\V15\ClientAccess\Owa\bin

d. Open Web.config file for OWA in the default path C:\Program Files\Microsoft\Exchange Server\V15\ClientAccess\Owa. If there is any %ExchangeInstallDir% in the web.config content, replace all of them with C:\Program Files\Microsoft\Exchange Server\V15\.

e. Run IISReset command to restart IIS services.

If the issue persists, please provide the detailed information about the error in your event viewer. Additionally, the Exchange 2013 CU8 is coming, maybe we can installed the latest patches to have a try:
