Server 2008 Exchange 2007 in Vmware - Extend Volume?
Thought I'd ask before I try this. I'm running Exchange 2007 CCR SP1on Server 2008 in VMWare (ESX 3.5). I need to extend the disk space that my DB is currently running on. After I expand the disk in vmware, can I use the Server 2008 "Extend Volume" function to seamlessly increase the disk space on the volume while Exchange is running with the DB mounted?I have done this already on the System partition with no issue, so I'm assuming it will not interfere with Exchange either. Thanks!

I have done this on W2K8 running on VMWarebefore in a lab environment and have not had any issues with it. But, as always, make sure you have good backups before proceeding with any changes. Just in case, dismount the Exchange databases before you do this, too. Jim McBee - Blog - http://mostlyexchange.blogspot.com

Thanks Jim. Since we're running CCR I decided to increase the space on the Passive server first, no issues. I then failed over and increased on the primary and then failed back. Worked without dismounting the DB's, though making the changes on the inactive side was easier on the nerves ;)
