Sent Items acutally not sent?
Hi, We have a user who sent an e-mail to another user within our organization and the mail shows in her Sent Items, however the recipient never received the mail. No NDR was received by the sender. My question is, can an email actually end up in the Sent Items if the mail never left the computer? I'm not so concerned about what happened to the mail, rather concerned that the mail shows as sent but there is absolutely not trace of the mail on the server logs. The user is running Outlook 2007 and we run Exch 2007 Thank you

No - it was not requested. This mail was not sent by myself, but rather one of my users. Our systems administrator company is telling me that the mail can end up in the sent items even if it was not sent, I'm disputing this. I don't agree and feel that if a message failed to send it would not appear in the sent items.

Hi Gary, Please reproduce the issue and use Message tracking(EMC | Toolbox | Message Tracking) to see if the mail is delivered successfully. At the same time, please check you queue(EMC | Toolbox | Queue viewer) to see if the mail hang there. How the senders Outlook connects to Exchange? Pop3, imap4 or mapi(Exchange mode)? Thanks, Elvis
