Sending notification on Outlook 2010 (Exchange) mail to non-Outlook account
Note: this question was originally posted in the Outlook 2010 forum but I was asked to move it here. One of my clients has board of directors made up of customers who have a company e-mail address (Exchange) but their primary e-mail is Hotmal, etc. Due to some of the content, the company does not want to send mail directly to the board but via the company e-mail accounts. Some board members are not checking their Outlook web accounts frequently. Is there a way in Outlook 2010 to set up a rule or other notification to the board members when mail is received in their company inbox? Messages can not be forwarded. Thanks in advance!Dawn B

1. You can setup an Outlook rule and maybe base this on the content that is received, i.e if a certain subject or word is expected in the email, you can create a rule to send an email message to their hotmail accounts with a message to check their business account. Or if the message sent to the business account is from a particular sender etc... 2. When you create the rule and have selec ted the condition above, on the action choose "Have server reply using a spcific message" fill out the message. Apply the rule. 3. Not sure what exch version you're using but you could probably use transport rules to do this too using similar logic above.Sukh
