Sending email to user / calendar gets distributed to old users and generates bounce backs...
I have a client that uses a shared calendar to schedule out their sales force. The procedure is to create a calendar item in your personal calendar and invite (send an invitation) to 'OR'. MOST of the employees have "OR" as a shared calendar. Most of the employees get an email asking them to accept the meeting posted on the shared OR calendar. Minor problems: Why is (most) everyone getting these emails asking them to accept the meeting invitation? How can we control who is/is not getting these meeting invitations? Big Problem is this: every time that an invitation is sent (maybe 50/day) there is a bounce back message. The subject is: Undeliverable: ... - Number of numbers in MIME From exceeds the maximum threshold. Inside the body are three people who are no longer users, each with the same error: recipients_cn=localuser@domain.com #550 5.1.1 RESOLVER.ADR.ExRecipNotFound; not found # # So, 1. Ho do we control who has access to the OR Calendar? 2. How do we control the OR Distrobution list? 3. Assuming that the resolver address bounce back error will resolve itself when I get control of #1 and #2? Running Server 2008 R1 64bit / Exchange 2007.

They will get invitations if they are invited. Is "OR" a distribution group? Don't invite the distribution group if you don't want to invite everybody who is a member. You can restrict who can send to the OR distribution group. -- Ed Crowley MVP "There are seldom good technological solutions to behavioral problems." . Hi, How do you set up the shared calendar? If the user has 'Owner' permission of the shared calendar, they will get the mails that ask them to accept the meeting. If you just want to allow the user to view the shared calender, you can change their permission to 'Viewer'. Then they will not receive the mails. 1. Log into OR's mailbox by using Outlook. 2. Click Folder List button. See the following figure. 3. Right click Calendar and choose properties. 4. In permission tab, select the users, in "Permission Level", select "Reviewer". Please remember to click “Mark as Answer” on the post that helps you, and to click “Unmark as Answer” if a marked post does not actually answer your question. This can be beneficial to other community members reading the thread. Thanks
