Send on Behalf of NOT Send As
I know there are a ton of messages on the site regarding these issues, but basically all I found people can't get the Send As to work. Well I want to Send on Behalf of. I am a Domain Administrator user account. Apparently I somewhere have rights to Send As any user, because mine never says "on behalf of" it just says it came from the person I put in the from box. Any of my other technicians that send from the email box do say on behalf of. They are not Domain Admins. I am looking for a way to get my account to send on behalf of instead of imperinating the users. I want to use this for our "Support Center" email account, but preferably I'd like it to only do this for the support center account.Find this post helpful? Does this post answer your question? As I understand, now you have” send as” permission to all the users, but you want to send on-behalf of “Support Center” So at first you need to remove “send as” permission for all the mailboxes to administrator, then grant “send on behalf” permission for “support center” to administrator. What’s the Exchange server version? If you are using Exchange 2007 or Exchange 2010, you could use this command to remove the permission. Get-mailbox –resultsize unlimited| foreach-Object{ Remove-MailboxPermission –identity $_.identity –User administrator –ExtendedRights “send as”}

Most likely this is a matter of correctly configuring your Outlook profile. I use "Send on behalf" myself and this is how I setup Outlook. 1. Create a Profile for your Primary Mailbox 'Chase Roth' 2. Add the Support Mailbox to the same profile. In this manner Chase Roth is the primary mailbox and you will see both mailboxes when you open the profile. With this setup when you hit Send on an email within the Support mailbox you get the “Send on Behalf” behavior. What you should NOT do is to create 2 separate profiles one for Chase Roth and one for Support. Because like that Outlook will consider you to be the owner of the mailbox depending on which profile is open i.e. you get "Send As" behavior. @Jerome: Coexistance with 2003 SP2 and 2010 SP1 Ru3. I am being picky here, because I want to have the "Send As" because people send me emails which should be work tickets. I forward the email to our Support Center's email account, that is automatically monitored by our ticketing system, which creates tickets. Having the "Send As" allows me to send to that address as them so they get assigned as the requestor of the ticket and not me. Of course they should have done that in the first place. but that's besides the point... So with that in mind I don't want to remove from every mailbox. Would this work just somehow explicitly removing "Send As" from the Support Center account? @Alexander: I do have the account added as an additional mailbox, but I just use the "From:" box and change it to any other users name. I don't necessarily need to add the box to my profile. How are you adding it? I use "File ->Account Settings..." select the primary account and choose "Change..." then "More Settings..." then "Advanced" tab and add Mailboxes. Is this how you do it?Find this post helpful? Yes that's how I configured the profile. It works for me whether I edit the From or I hit reply on an email item that is in the Support Inbox. BTW as for permissions I did the following: 1. Open EMC | Recipient Configuration | Mailbox | Support 2. Mail Flow Settings | Delivery Options 3. I did a test. If userA has “send as” and “send on-behalf” permission to UserB. Once UseA sends email with UserB in the “From” field, the recipient will find the email send from UserB. It means UserA send as UserB. I think you could use Outlook rules to achieve it. 1. Remove send as permission to all mailboxes. 2. Create an Outlook rule. I think all the ticket is create by your ticket system, so the subject may be with same words. So you could create a rule, once the subject include XXXX, forward the email to support center.
