Send as permissions not working
Using SBS 2008 and Exchange Server 2007.We have multiple mailboxes our customer service person uses to differentiate mail about the different sales channel we sell thru. We recently added a mailbox (the first we have added since transitioning our server to SBS2008 from SBS2003.) I've tried using the Exchange Management Console to set the Full Access Permissions and Send As Permissions to the group of customer service users. All of the users in the group can see/read email in the mailbox. Only half of them can email as that "user".When I tried to direct Send As Permission to one of the users unable to send, it still didn't allow her to send email thru that account. When I tried to change her from a standard user to a Domain Power User, then it would work. The problem is there is a lot more power in the Domain Power User group than we want to give our CS reps. We also have had no problem with the old mailbox's we transfered over when we transitioned to SBS2008.The work around we are using right now is to have her select a different box as the send as so she can still work thru those emails, but it will mess up the organization of that data.Anybody have any ideas?

Hiwhen user trying to do send as click on from field and find the required user from the GAL and try to send the mail. As you said some are working and for some it not working. This issue occurs when users are working on Cached mode. Regards,Krishnahttp://smtpport25.wordpress.com/

The only one that is having the problem is the new email with users that are not Domain Power Users or Admins. All of the stations are set to Download Full Items. I'm not sure what you are saying the fix is.Thanks for the quick reply though, :-)Art Edson

A quick question, how long did you wait after giving send-as or full mailbox permission? It may take up to 2 hours to become effective due to Information Store service cache. If you need it immediately, you can restart the IS service but it may affect all users...
