Send as Rights in Exchange 2003
Everyday we have to create 5 or 6 resource mailboxes in my Windows 2003 domain and provide access to more than 100 users. We assigne them "Send as" rights. When we provide the acess to a user on resource mailboxes, they get some default permission e.g Read etc. in Security Tab. Every time we have to uncheck those 7 to 8 default permissions and check mark the "Send as" permission. So my question is that, is it necessasry to uncheck default permissions and check the "Send as" option in order to provide the "Send as"rights? If I keep default permission as usual means checked and also check mark the "Send as" option, will it make any impact on "Send as" permissions. Simple answer is No. You need to select only “Sent as” permission in order to grand “Sent As” permission. Assuming you don’t have any “deny” permission coming from somewhere else. What are you trying to accomplish? http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/bb125118(EXCHG.65).aspx Santhosh Sivarajan | MCTS, MCSE (W2K3/W2K/NT4), MCSA (W2K3/W2K/MSG), CCNA, Network+ Houston, TX http://blogs.sivarajan.com/ http://publications.sivarajan.com/ This posting is provided "AS IS" with no warranties, and confers no rights.

As long as that user has access to other mailboxes, you can add additional mailboxes to outlook. Here is the procedure http://support.microsoft.com/kb/291626 Santhosh Sivarajan | MCTS, MCSE (W2K3/W2K/NT4), MCSA (W2K3/W2K/MSG), CCNA, Network+ Houston, TX http://blogs.sivarajan.com/ http://publications.sivarajan.com/ This posting is provided "AS IS" with no warranties, and confers no rights.
