Send a Caller directly to voicemail - no greeting

Hello,

I am not a technical person... let me start by putting that out there. I am a Super User with just enough rights/knowledge to be dangerous. In our environment, we are converting from Cisco UCM to Lync UC. We are using Lync 2013 for IM and call handling and Exchange 2013 for voicemail. We are also using Audio Codes (not sure how that fits into the picture but I think it's important to know that?) to determine where calls are 'handled'... they will either go to a Lync Endpoint or a Trusted Application Endpoint (we use Clarity Connect as our 'call center' system).

Here's what I want to do ... I want to send a call to voicemail - directly. Right now, if we want to send a caller to voicemail without having the endpoint ring, we use:

SIP:first.last@domain.com;opaque=app:voicemail

This gets the call straight to Exchange. BUT, once the call gets to exchange, they still hear the recorded greeting and then they hear the 'auto attendant greeting' telling them "after the tone please record your message. When your finished recording, press # for other options". I want that to go away... I just want them to hear the message and then the beep.

Any suggestions on how to do that? I've seen a line similar to the one we are using to send the call straight to voicemail that has an extra little command on the end... it looks like this:

SIP:first.last@domain.com;opaque=app:voicemail;local-resource-path=voicememo

but that doesn't seem to do anything different than leaving off the local-resource-path=voicememo.

Any advice?

Thank you,

Tracy.

Hi

The Mailbox server role is installed with a set of default audio prompt files. These audio files contain the recordings for Outlook Voice Access menus, voice mail greetings, and numbers that are used by Exchange Unified Messaging. The audio files are played by a Mailbox server to incoming callers, both internal and external.

The prompts are located in <Program Files>\Microsoft\Exchange Server\V15\UnifiedMessaging\Prompts\<language>. The prompts used by the Mailbox server to help callers move through the menus shouldn't be replaced or changed from this location.

May be these things might help you

In this case, we are using Clarity Connect for the call routing options. We have a recorded greeting and voice prompt with options to press 1 to leave a voicemail, press 2 for xxxx, press 3 for yyyyy. Having those prompts repeated once the call gets to Exchange is redundant... the caller doesn't need to move through the menus because I don't want there to be any menus in Exchange for this particular voicemail box.

Any suggestions?

Thanks,

Tracy
