Send/receive connectors issues in a mixed mode Exch03/Exch07
Hi,We have migrated all users to Exch 07 server except one mailbox for security issue. issue # 1, exch 03 mailbox is using IMAP4 port 143 and all mail automatically import into bug tracking software using visual basic script and cannot be changed. I believe Exchange 07 will not accept it by default unless we change it to plain text logon but company policy will not allow it. Is there a way to enable IMAP on all mailboxes with secure logon but one mailbox? Or What's the best way to handle it? Issue # 2. default receive connector is set to allow anonymous users, exchange users, exchange servers and legacy exchange. If we enable a new send connector, the mail flow stop working immediately. Users cannot send or receive mail. Did I miss something? How can I configure all mailboxes using a new send connector in a mixed mode environment? or What's the best way to resolve the issue here? Pls help!Very appreciated for your input-john

Hi John,
For the first problem, I suggest that you can deploy two CAS servers to enable secure logon on one mail and secure logon on other mailboxes.
For the second problem, would you describe your problem more detailed? I would like to explain that if you configure a POP3/SMTP client, the client use the POP3 service on CAS server to receive emails and use the Receive Connector on the hub transport servers to send emails. The send connector is used to send email from the hub server to another hub/edge server or others mail server.
For receive and send connector, I suggest you read the following article:
