Selective disabling of Tracking Logs
Hi to everybody, I am trying to figure out how to achieve one of the requirements that I have been requested for our Exchange 2007 organization, but, according with all I have seen, there is no way to do it. Basically, we would like to disable the Tracking Logs only for a particular mailbox. This means that, all the emails generated from and to a particular mailbox must not generate tracking logs in the Exchange servers, while the rest of the activity should work as usual. Definitely, there is no way to do this, but, I was thinking on, maybe, developing a custom Transport agent. However, even in this case I did not found any way to do it. Does any of you know whether or not this is possible? Any suggestion will be very much appreciated. Thanks in advance!!http://xna-para-torpes.blogspot.com Your Spanish site about XNA !

Install another Exchange server for just that mailbox. How you'll keepany other MTAs from creating their own log files is something you'llhave to deal with, too.---Rich MatheisenMCSE+I, Exchange MVP --- Rich Matheisen MCSE+I, Exchange MVP

Hi Rich, first of all, thanks for your answer. I thought on deploying an ad hoc for this mailbox, but, it does not solve the problem, because the rest of the users still use the other Exchange servers and therefore the tracking logs will record this emails :-( Edit: Well, I have been thinking now, and what you said is most certainly true. The tracking logs will be generated only on that server, but not in the rest. mmmh... Thanks!! http://xna-para-torpes.blogspot.com Your Spanish site about XNA !

Since this is Exchange 2007, the logs with the most detail will be generated on the hub transport role servers. The logs on the mailbox server role will be mostly mapi submittal tracking.

I agree with the friends above. There is no way to achieve this goal. The only workaround I can figure out is Rich's solution: Installing a new server with mailbox&hub transport role installed, and put the mailbox into the new server.
